About
Select your character, line up on the grid and wait for the countdown to hit 2 before slamming on the gas.
Yield, size, flavour, press-potential and forgiving to grow. Rainbow Sundae 11 might just have it all. Let’s delve into it.
Rainbow Sundae 11 shows impressive early vigor, exploding into the vegetative stage with thick stems and sharp, beautifully serrated 7-to-9-finger fan leaves. In our testing, she responded to her container volume; in more restricted root spaces, she forms a compact, well-spaced candelabra physique, while given more room to roam, she stretches out into a dominant, large-framed pine tree structure with strong lateral branching pushing hard from the lower nodes. She responds beautifully to basic canopy management, requiring only moderate leaf tucking and selective defoliation to keep light penetrating to the lower sites.
Because of her vigour, especially in her lateral branching, it’s noteworthy that you should have some kind of structural support on standby to help keep her frame intact. Jimbo noted in his own grow that despite a fluctuation in his pH levels early on, Rainbow Sundae 11 bounced back the quickest and strongest of all the testers in his tents at the time.
Rainbow Sundae 11 is well-tempered and not particularly prone to any stressors, as with most autoflowers, if you get her off to a good start then you should be golden for the rest of her cycle. She isn’t a particularly heavy feeder or waterer, and combine that with her bounce-backability, she’s a strain we could easily recommend to both novice and experienced growers alike.
The bloom cycle for Rainbow Sundae 11 is a spectacle to behold. Plants fade into a starburst yellow to lavender senescence with multiple hues. Purples creep through in the bracts and sugar leaves as dense, golf-ball-sized buds swell along each node point. Frost production is off the charts, with shimmering trichomes completely consuming every floral cluster, creating an industrial, glue-like resin that is incredibly tactile and sticky. The sheer weight of these resin-heavy, rock-hard nugs will cause the outer branches to bow outward, making support ties mandatory at this point, if you haven’t already offered her a helping hand.
Once into mid-to-late flower, the smells on Rainbow Sundae 11 really take off. Aromatics on the vine come in initially tart, lemon forward and with a gassy essence. Those notes eventually transition into a much sweeter cream candy forward profile while still maintaining much of that dominant lemon and gas. You get a touch of the Sundae Thumper parentage with the overly sweet creamy elements happening in the body of the profile. As a finish, the gas note manifests as a minty-infused lemonade.
Combine the killer colour, density, and aromatics of Rainbow Sundae 11 with a sugar-rush-style euphoric effect, and you get a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Jimbo has used this as his daily driver for the last several months and it remains one of the undisputed champs for motivation and productivity. You get just shifty enough to respect the strength of the flower without it becoming too overwhelming. It’s functional, but much more heady than our more focused higher ratio sativa dominant selections. The strength is a bit high to be used for creative focus, but energetic enough to keep you off the slump. She’s a solid choice for recreation and any kind of summer-time social event.
